Dr. Leanne Norman, Audiologist
Dr. Leanne Norman is Summit County’s only full time Doctor of Audiology. She grew up in Wyoming and attended the University of North Dakota. She and her husband, Destry, are avid college hockey fans and frequently travel to cheer on her alma mater Fighting Sioux hockey team.
Dr. Norman’s audiology background started in hearing aid manufacturing. She worked for 12 years for various hearing aid manufacturers in technical support, audiology training and market research and gained extensive hands-on experience with the various products before opening her private practice in 2011.
She has two adorable daughters who also love looking in ears and playing with ear wax. Her family loves being outdoors and on the weekend you can usually find them on the lake with a fishing pole in the water.
Peggy Hanson, Office Coordinator
Peggy Hanson was born and grew up in Grand Forks, North Dakota, many years ago. She attended Colorado College and has three degrees from the University of North Dakota. She taught for 25 years in North Dakota, Missouri, and Washington, and ended her career as a high school principal in International Falls, Minnesota. Peggy moved to Park City in 2002 to ski and enjoy retirement. She works at Deer Valley Resort in the winter.
Peggy has two daughters, Vicki in Northbrook, Illinois, and Tracy in Eagan, Minnesota. She has two granddaughters, Sarah who attends the University of North Dakota (4th generation), and Lauren who is a junior at Glenbrook North High School.
Barbara, Office Coordinator
Barbara was born and raised in Bay Village, Ohio, a shoreline city on Lake Erie, 15 miles west of Cleveland. Many of her days were spent boating, swimming, playing various sports, learning to play reed instruments, ballet lessons, baton twirling, ice skating, cheerleading and relaxing in the sun. After high school she attended ‘The Ohio State University’ majoring in health, physical education, and recreation, was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and an avid buckeye fan. Graduation took her to Berea, Ohio where she taught for two years before getting the bug to join an airline and see the world.
Barbara was based in San Francisco for United Airlines her entire 37 year flying career and yes, she did see much of the world making many national and international friends along the way. She doesn’t have a favorite destination as every place has something special to offer. Ok, she loves Australia, Asia and all of Europe!
While flying she developed and taught an airline careers course at a local junior college (4 years) and also volunteered with the ‘fear of flying clinic’ helping clients become successful and comfortable flyers. (7 years)
She retired in June of 2003 and moved to Park City where her brother, years before, had introduced her to skiing and many locals through the Park City mountain sports club. She has since held many board positions including president and social chairman with the club.
Barbara keeps busy working at Deer Valley and Utah Audiology and Hearing plus volunteering and traveling. She returns to Ohio often to visit her daughter’s family and watch her two grandsons play football and ice hockey for their high school teams.
Life is to be continued!!
